School’s Cross Country League Autumn/Winter 2024

We invite all Schools within the County to send teams or individuals to the Cross Country League meetings to be held during the Autumn term. We hope that as many schools or individuals who are interested will come along to these meetings. Medals are awarded to the winning individuals and teams. Schools or individuals must compete in all three meetings in order to qualify for the awards.

Make a note in your school sports diary of the following:

SATURDAY 5th OCTOBER

SATURDAY 16th NOVEMBER

SATURDAY 30th NOVEMBER

All meetings will be held at Berry Hill Park, Mansfield, NG18 4JR with the first race starting at 10.00am - the timetable is below and remains the same for all three dates.

Parents/spectators are asked to park in the Coal Authority Car Park, accessed via Lichfield Lane, NG184RG and signposted There will be no charge for car parking. Spectators then make their way to the parkto register with their school or inside at the registration desk.

Due to the terrain of the course (path, woodland trail and grass), athletes are advised to bring both trainers and spikes (for those that have them) and walk the course to see which they feel is most appropriate.

Age groups for both boys and girls will be:

Years 5/6.          Year 7.         Years 8/9.       Years 10/11.

There will be a charge of £40 per secondary or primary school – this covers all three event dates.  The three events will consist of a maximum of 8 athletes per team per age group.  Individuals are welcome to run and represent their school rather than having to be a member of a school team but a cost of £3 per race is required for any individual.

NOTE that in 2025 the County Schools Cross Country Championships will be held at Worksop College on Saturday 1st February. English Schools Cross Country is to be held on Saturday 15th March.
