Nottinghamshire Schools T&F Championships 2025

Qualification for this event is via Districts.
Qualification for English Schools is dependent on competing in the County Schools event and reaching the standard.

Scoring
1st place =8 pts. 2nd place = 7 pts. 3rd place = 6 pts. 4th place = 5 pts. 5th place = 4 pts. 6th place = 3 pts. 7th place = 2 pts. 8th place = 1 pt.
No points for later positions.
Additional points will be awarded to competitors on the following basis:
County Standard-1pt. ESAA entry standard-2pts. ESAA National Standard-3pts.
In races in which heats are held it will be the first one in each heat and an appropriate number of fastest losers to make an 8 athlete final in 100m and in 200m.
In timed races the medals and points will be awarded on the basis of the fastest times.
Standards are set by ESAA and published annually in their handbook.
ESAA entry and national standards are shown in the programme.
PLEASE ENSURE THAT YOUR DISTRICT HAS AT LEAST 3 PEOPLE TO ASSIST WITH OFFICIATING (STAFF OR LEADERS, preferably those who know what they are doing).
PLEASE BE AWARE OF ATHLETES WHO MAY NOT BE ALLOWED TO COMPETE AT YOUR DISTRICT COMPETITIONS BUT CAN STILL COMPETE FOR YOU AT COUNTY.
Rules for competition: The championship meeting will be conducted under ESAA & UKA rules (April 2019 rule book)
NUMBERS: Competitors may be disqualified if they do not wear the correct numbers back and front for all events except High Jump and Pole Vault when they can wear their numbers on the front. These will be supplied by the Association on arrival.
NUMBERS MUST BE FASTENED TO YOUR VEST BY SAFETY PINS, ONE IN EACH CORNER TO PREVENT ANY FOLDING OF THE NUMBER.
ELIGIBILTY: All competitors must be bona fide scholars in full time education at affiliated schools/academies/colleges in Nottinghamshire/ Nottingham City.
Junior - over 12 and under 15 years of age (years 8 and 9 only) NO YEAR 7 PUPILS
Intermediate 15 and under 17 years of age (years 10 and 11 only)
All ages are reckoned at 31st August/1st September at the end of the current school year.
NO GUESTS WILL BE ALLOWED IN ANY EVENTS WITHOUT PRIOR PERMISSION FROM ANITA SPRAY (3 Days before the event).
Year 11 athletes who could not compete at District level due to exams need to be incorporated into District teams where possible.
NUMBERS OF EVENTS PER COMPETITOR: Juniors and Intermediates are restricted to any two events (when UKA rules apply) plus a relay.
All competitors if at all possible must wear the correct area kit otherwise they may risk disqualification.

WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THE POLE VAULT and HIGH JUMP, ALL COMPETITORS WILL HAVE 3 TRIALS AND THE TOP 8 WILL HAVE ONE FURTHER TRIAL.
