Open category is any age (there is no separate senior category).
A runner can win an open and an age category medal.
In the team events, first 3 runners of each club score.
Vet and mixed teams had to be declared before the race and cannot be reversed after the race; runners not declared for a team are by default in the open team category.
Non-scoring runners are also shown (NB some clubs declared teams with runners that weren’t in the race and so they did not finish a scoring team of 3 in that category).
Runners can only score in one team category.
Team categories eg open (all ages), vets (all 40+), mixed (any age of 1 man + 2 women or2 men +1 woman and the first 3 of either of these combinations to score) are scored only by those declared for the vets and mixed ie scores in a vet category is against all other vets that were declared and similarly for mixed teams; open category is all other runners not declared as vets or mixed.
In the event of a tie on points in the team events, team position is determined by the clubs’ last scoring runners with the lowest points. (In the mixed event, 3 clubs finished on 28 points: their positions on count back are shown as 28.2 +silver, 28.3 bronze, 28.4 4th).

Medal presentation / distribution to club officials will take place at the county cross country championships at Shipley Park on January 4th 2025.

Thanks to David Corbett of Run2U Events and all his team and race marshals for kindly allowing the Edwinstowe 10k trail race to host the Nottinghamshire trail running championships after an absence of at least 20 years and when last organised by John Foden in 2000 (I know because I was in it finishing 3rd and bronze and V40 gold! – if anyone knows if these Notts trail champs were held any other year, I’d be grateful if you could send me this information).

I am grateful to John Schofield of UK Timers at Ukresults.net and race results service acting for the event for his kind permission to adapt his spreadsheet of results for the Notts trail championships.

Thanks to Rob Fox of Long Eaton RC and Notts AAA for his invaluable assistance with the Notts trail champs.

Thanks to all Notts runners for supporting the event and see you for next year’s trail champs or the Notts fell champs at Wolf’s Pit in March 2025.
