It is with regret and after much deliberation that I have decided to cancel the Notts AAA County Fell Championships for 2021. The host race, Longshaw Sheepdog Trials fell race on 4th September is still going ahead with an entry limit of 200 and can be found at:
https://racesignup.co.uk/site/event.php?eventid=221
The decision is due to the continuing uncertainties regarding Covid 19 and as such, I must put the health and welfare of the small and dedicated team of volunteers - without whom the fell champs each year would not happen - ahead of holding a championships this year.
I know this will be a disappointment for many; however, there are plenty more years for the fell championships, and in due course, I will make it known what the arrangements for the Notts fell champs 2022 will be toward the end of this year.
Thank you for your understanding and best wishes and good luck for your continuing running endeavours.
Dicky Wilkinson

Best wishes for your fell and hill running over the spring and summer,

Points are scored by overall race position e.g. 1st runner = 1 point, 2nd = 2 points, 17th = 17 points, and lowest total scores determines positions. In the event of teams tied on points the team with their last counting runner nearest 1st is placed ahead.

www.fabian4.co.uk race entry website – please enter early when this entry goes live to avoid the disappointment of not getting in to this very popular early spring race. IN THE EVENT OF BAD WEATHER FORECAST FOR RACE DAY AT WOLF’S PIT PLEASE CHECK THE RACE WEBSITE www.braddadads.wordpress.com IN CASE OF RACE CANCELLATION – THIS OCCURRED IN 2018 DUE TO SEVERE WINTER CONDITIONS.
Selection for Nottinghamshire men’s and women’s fell running teams will be based on the first 4 finishers in the Wolf’s Pit fell race (race 1 of the 2020 Notts fell champs), finishers from 5th onwards become reserves with 5th first reserve, 6th second reserve etc. Selection for the Notts intercounties team may also depend on appropriate fell running experience if required by UKA for the fell intercounties championships. In the event of an U23 finishing in the first 4 in the Notts champs then the fifth runner will also be selected for Nottinghamshire. If any Notts club has any U23 runners (men or women) they wish to be considered for the Nottsintercounties team (and who have appropriate fell running experience) please contact Dicky Wilkinson.
